Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 26, 2026
Dare to Do is operated by Yuyan Zhang as a sole proprietor ("we", "us"). This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the Dare to Do service ("Service").
We do not sell your data
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own cross-context behavioral advertising. We use your information to provide and improve Dare to Do for you — not to monetize your identity. For more detail, see our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect:
- Account information — such as email address and optional nickname when you sign in or create an account
- Content you provide — goals, milestones, notes, reflections, preferences, and messages you send to coaching features
- Device and usage data — approximate technical details needed to run the Service (for example, browser type, basic analytics events, and error logs)
- Local device data — if you use the Service without an account, some information may stay only on your device until you clear browser data or sync to an account
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Authenticate you and sync your dares across devices
- Generate coaching suggestions and personalized product experiences
- Send functional messages you request or that are needed for the Service (for example, sign-in codes or optional retention emails you enable)
- Protect security, prevent abuse, and comply with law
3. AI processing
Some features use AI models to generate coaching guidance from the content you provide. Prompts and relevant context may be sent to our infrastructure and/or model providers solely to produce responses for you and to operate the feature. AI-generated output may be inaccurate or incomplete and is not medical, mental health, or other professional advice. Do not submit sensitive information you are not comfortable processing for that purpose.
4. Not medical or professional advice
The Service is not a medical device and does not provide medical, mental health, psychological, therapeutic, diagnostic, legal, financial, or other professional advice or treatment. Content and AI suggestions are for general self-improvement only. If you need medical or mental health help — especially in an emergency — contact a qualified professional or local emergency services. See our Terms of Service for the full disclaimer.
5. How we share information
We share information only as needed to operate the Service, including with trusted service providers (for example, hosting, authentication, email delivery, analytics, and AI model providers) under contractual obligations to use the data for providing services to us — not to sell it. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or security of users or the public.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
We and our providers may use cookies or similar technologies for authentication, preferences, and understanding how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work without them.
7. Data retention
We retain account and content data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We may retain limited records longer when required for security, legal, or operational reasons. Local-only data remains on your device until you clear it.
8. Security
We take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use a secure email account for sign-in codes.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. You can update some information in Settings, sign out, or contact us to request help with account or data requests. If you use the Service without an account, clearing browser/site data removes local information on that device.
10. Age requirement (18+)
The Service is intended solely for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. International use
The Service may be operated from servers in locations different from where you live. By using the Service, you understand that information may be processed in those locations subject to applicable law.
12. Changes
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. We will revise the effective date when we do. Continued use of the Service after an update means you acknowledge the revised notice.
