Terms of Service
Effective date: July 26, 2026
Dare to Do is operated by Yuyan Zhang as a sole proprietor ("we", "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Dare to Do service ("Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Dare to Do is a personal coaching and goal-tracking product that helps you plan and follow through on meaningful goals ("dares"). Features may include AI-assisted coaching, progress tracking, optional account sync, and related communications. We may update, pause, or discontinue features at any time.
2. Eligibility (18+)
The Service is intended solely for adults. You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract to create an account or use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older. The Service is not intended for, and may not be used by, anyone under 18. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
3. Accounts
Accounts are optional. Without an account, some data may remain only on your device. If you create an account, you are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping access to your email secure. You must promptly notify us of unauthorized use of your account.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
-
Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes
-
Attempt to access other users' data, disrupt the Service, or reverse engineer protected parts of the product beyond what the law allows
-
Misuse AI coaching features to generate or distribute illegal or clearly harmful content
-
Scrape, overload, or automate access to the Service in a way that harms availability or security
5. Your content
You retain ownership of the goals, notes, reflections, and other content you submit ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you. You are responsible for Your Content and for ensuring you have the rights to submit it.
6. AI features
Parts of the Service use artificial intelligence and automated systems to generate coaching prompts, plans, and other content ("AI Output"). AI Output is generated by statistical models and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, biased, or otherwise unsuitable. We do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or usefulness of any AI Output, and you should independently verify anything important before relying on it. AI Output does not represent our views and is not professional advice of any kind. You are solely responsible for any action you take based on the Service, and you use AI features at your own risk. Do not submit information you are not comfortable having processed by third-party AI providers to generate responses for you.
7. Not medical, mental health, or professional advice
Dare to Do is not a medical device and does not provide medical, mental health, psychological, therapeutic, diagnostic, legal, financial, or other professional advice or treatment. Nothing in the Service creates a doctor–patient, therapist–client, or other professional relationship, and the Service is not a substitute for consultation with a qualified professional. The Service is a general self-improvement and motivation tool only.
The Service is not for emergencies and cannot provide crisis support. If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, are thinking about harming yourself or others, or otherwise need urgent help, stop using the Service and immediately contact your local emergency number, a licensed professional, or a crisis hotline. Always seek the advice of a qualified health provider with any questions you have regarding a medical or mental health condition. Never disregard professional advice or delay seeking it because of something you read or generated in the Service.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, software, branding, and documentation, is owned by Yuyan Zhang or licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you ownership of the Service.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if we need to protect the Service or other users. Provisions that by nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will survive termination.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YUYAN ZHANG AND OUR SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice (for example, by updating the effective date or notifying you in the product). Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
